My daughter Matilda Fey at 3 days old. Not your traditional classic baby portrait of course. I love her hairyness and wanted to capture that before it all disappeared. Not much sharp and in focus i admit. I was using window light quite late in the day on the last day of the month so didn't have much time to shoot. Plus, she doesn't stay still much at the moment.

This is amazing. I wish you and your family all the best. I would love to see another portrait of her now.

My god - this is amazing. You almost wonder if she's still in the womb, but her look is so alert that you know she's not. Excellent!

I've never seen a baby photograph in quite this manner. Not sure I like the harsh treatment in post.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: A most unusual and interesting baby portrait. The deep shadows and colour temperate evoke a very warm cosseted feeling and the way the light (and your processing?) catches the fine body hair / down.

Critical stuff: I do think I'm a bit conventional here and feel that better focus on the face / eye would have improved the image (despite the overall soft feel).

Overall: Effective and unusual.

The lighting makes such a huge impact on how this image presents the child. It's a little disturbing but I like what you did.

my first thought was "Aww" but then i noticed all the hair on the baby...which was...let's say unexpected! Cute baby nonetheless.

I'm very sorry but the lighting and processing of this picture make it a little disturbing.

Stanford? Oops! I shouldn't try and guess as I might get in trouble for recognising the photographer ;-)

Very cute and a lovely photo. Congratulations too to whom ever you are.
