I think a tighter crop on this, using just the bottom half perhaps would work better |

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Great shadows and some nice textures. It conveys a 'we all turn to dust feel'.
Critical stuff: The image doesn't have much soul - it feels a little flat in terms of impact. I think the composition is a bit vanilla too. The top of the skull at the 1/3s point makes this feel a bit too by-the-numbers.
Overall: To me a bit mundane; perhaps that was your intention - the matter-of-factness of death. If so, I can see your point - I just don't think it makes for something that will hold a viewer's interest for too long. |

IMNSHO, this would benefit from cropping a lot off the top and giving the shot a more landscape format. There isn't much of interest going on in the upper third of the shot, whereas that skull is killer. I want to see more of it. |

Nicely captured but a different perspective might have been a bit better for me, such as taking the shot low to the ground. May not have been possible though. |
