I figured there would be a lot of this type of shot. First off, my first glance says the lighting is a little bright in the top left, and dark at bottom right. Framing is ok. DOF is ok. Composition opinion - This board is fairly dusty. That could've been used to your advantage if you went for an "older" technology shot. I think nothing short of clean and shiny would do well with a "cutting-edge" type shot. To go for the older shot, maybe a sepia or black and white and changing the title would be effective in changing viewer perspectives. B&W might solve the lighting prob's a little too. Hope that helps a little. - Inspzil

Good detail. Was the original subject dirty, or on fire at one time? 8)

In the 'technology' challenge, I expected to see a lot of photos of circuit boards. Knowing this, I believe that these photos need to be done more creatively in an attempt to make them stand out. How could you have made this photograph more impactive? If you are new to the challenge concept, one thing you may consider is ASSUMING that there will be several other photos like yours each week. In many cases, there are! With this in mind, you need to create impact.... - setzler

I think you should have cleaned the dust off first.
