A man enjoys lunch alone at Pittsburgh's new riverfront casino.

This is from my Smena 8M and was shot on Fuji Superia X-tra 800 film. The camera is a flimsy little bakelite box made in the USSR. It's fully manual, and to get the exposure right, I started memorizing exposure values for various scenes and applying Sunny 16. It works pretty well. I use high speed film so that I can shoot at f11 or f16. Unlike my other cheap film cameras, this one has a glass lens, so the pictures can be pretty sharp.

This is a striking photograph regardless of method. A bit of a paradox - the inconsequential nature of a single man, and the consequence of man's constructions.

I like it.. the framing, repeating patterns and reflections. I didn't know Pittsburgh had a casino..
