Two Great Blue Herons having a bit of a spat over fishing territory. I am *thrilled* with this image :-)
PP - tonemapped in qtpfsgui (pregamma 0.697, mantiuk method, contrast mapping 0.1, saturation factor 1.087, detail factor 1), merged with original at 10% transparency, cropped, white balance, duplicate layer (Gaussian blur, dodged birds and a little of shrubbery on the left, merged in Multiply mode), dodged birds some more, cloned out two dark reeds in foreground, slight gradient filter to darken bright leaves on top/right, increased contrast, resized, sharpened with noise reduction, added border, hand sharpened a few birdie bits.

Awesome capture. I wish there was more contrast between the birds and their background, but I guess that just shows that their natural camouflage is working.
