Greetings from the Critique Club!
ha ha, what are the chances that the random image pull for critique club would give me the two image you've entered into challenges! Congrats, it's you're lucky day .
Composition and Lighting: Love the reflection you've captured here. It seems to me that the pots are off center (too far right), so maybe either crop the image to make it artistically off center, or divide the pots by the center. Kapesh?
The side-lighting is quite nice.
Technical: Nitpicks: the dust/sand below the red pot is distracting. The top red rim is slightly distracting (either crop it or include more - so that it isn't right along the edge of the frame). Slight noise will get you voted down.
Conceptual: As you've seen, you got hammered DNMC - does not meet the challenge. A piece of advice for DPC: meeting the challenge in a mostly obvious way is almost king. I would say the true importance of a photo entered to DPC is having a wow factor that appeals to the masses and makes it popular. H'anyways, I like the idea you were going for here and think it would have done well had you included 3 pots.
Overall: Keep up the good work. |

Can't figure out the connection to the challenge? Still a good shot though |

precisely. i don't understand the 3rd subject here. does mirror appear to me as a 3rd subject? No. But yes as a tool to expand your subjects appeal, but still 1 cup with 1 reflection is considered as 1 subject being showcased in a better way. your title also revolves around 2 |

I see 4 "items", and I think the challenge was 3. But a very good picture - perhaps you mean for the reflections to be counted as a whole entity? |

I'm so sorry, but I'm having a really hard time getting three out of this... I see two, and I see four, but I have no idea what 3 would be... Sorry! |

I think the title you chose says it all. There are either 2 or 4 things of equal importance in this photo...but definitely not 3.
Really, its a shame, because I like the photo visually. |

well I'm looking for your 3rd object...maybe I'm just dense...I will say that you have superb focus and clarity not to mention beautiful colors going on...but I'm still not seeing the 3 equal elements... |

I see 2 cups and 2 reflections. Where is the 3rd? |

This is a tough challenge to vote on. I really only see two subjects here. I like the fun colors. |

As much as I try to open my mind and bend it outside the corners of the box that is the challenge description, I just can't see how this fits the challenge...
Otherwise, the colors are lovely and the reflection is good. Despite a little dust on the mirror and the shot being off center so much for no apparent reason, this is a very good photo. |

Am I missing the third subject? I think it's a cool photo overall, I just fail to see three things (I have a hard time counting reflections as a third subject) |
