This is a view taken at Portlock, Hawaii. This was my last shot of the day because all my memory cards were all filled up. What a lucky shot too. That place is a popular fishng spot for shoreline fishers also.

Lovely photo. Long title. I like the diversity within the shot. Silhouetted palms, dramatic clouds and a powerful surf. In the distance, the beckoning Diamond Head.

I like the composition, but the highlights in the clouds required so much of the range that the detail in rocks was lost and underexposed. I think spot metering on a less hot area would have helped to bring them into a closer exposure zone.

I would like to see some more detail and color in the rocks, but realise you have to manage some extremes in exposure here.

Very dramatic sky. From my point of view there is too much lost in the shadow on lower right.
