I like how the entire head is in focus from the nose to the eyes and then some. |

I have seen this photo done many times. Pet pictures are fine, but they need to convey the emotion of the animal. this one begins to do that, but falls short.
Also it seems that is one is conveying the emotion of longing or sadness in a dog, and all too common emotion portrayed. Try portraying other aspects of the pet's personality. |

I think I would have liked this better as non B&W. The B&W shows a bit too much detail in the carpet, distracting me from the dog. |
