 Cropped, resized then color changed via white balance shift and selective colors. Everything but the knot blurred a bit and a bunch of weird fuzz and little stretch marks removed. Vignette added and a border.

Basic, simple and well done. Very effective use of lighting. I expect this to place high. I should learn to take the visually simple approach more often.
