I don't know if anybody is going to markdown because everybody's jaded by the awesome works of Jacko.

Used my fixed camera in macro mode with no special lenses attached.

Probably my most PS'd shot entered in the challenges.

Actually the fly was quite alive. The cold weather here in the sunset district just kept it moving really slow and inactive. It didn't attempt to fly away when I was an inch away from it. I was able to take a couple of pictures and it escape.

I continue to wonder where you guys find all these bugs! Anyhow, this little fellow is "middle of the road" to me for voting purposes, and most definitely not "brown ribbon" quality. He looks a little, uh, dead. Try a Jacko string?

Wouldn't have met the challenge brief. ;)

Like the viewpoint here and there's a vibe I quite like too. Clean up has removed some detail in the fly.

Just over a 5? This shot is way way underrated. I would have expected to see it much closer to a 6. The background is sort of grainy, but that just seems to accentuate the color and detail of the fly.

There appears to be some noise in this shot and it looks like it needs some sharpening. Be careful though, this shot will clearly show oversharpening.

Reminds me of the Kilroy was here drawings. Good macro of half a fly. A 7.
