Way too overexposed IMO. Great sharpness on the face though. Jacko

i'll bet it is. you isolated the cow very effectively. i'd be curious to know how you did this, exactly. anyhow. it works for the shot, and the subject is well placed in the frame.

Just too burned out. Great look from the cow though! DPz

The overexposure is what makes this photo interesting. Otherwise it would be a slightly boring photo of a cow.

The photo does not tell me very much on it's own and the title is a poor attempt at saving the photo. Also, just about every area is overexposed leaving nothing but a big brown blob of a cow in the photo. This could definitely be improved using better composition and exposure.

The color is really washed out on this -- it looks like the cow has come apart in the middle. muckpond.

Why's the grass white? Why does it look like someone's already taken a slice out of his middle? Nice colours and clarity in the face though.

overexposed... 5 marksimms

I like the idea and the subject you chose but the lighting kinda sucks!

Too much adjustment here for my taste. Keeping the cow in a natural state would have appealed more to me. As it is now the white on the cow blends too much into the background and leaves the animal looking too surreal.

The whites are way too bright for me - and for a front page photo. It looks like you desaturated some colors, but I don't think the result works here.

I like your humor and I'm sure it's a human interest story. Don't like the colorization you did. It doesn't work for this one. Real grass looks good here. Beside you lost his back knee and the other back leg is purple at the bottom, with a blue stomach and part of his back is missing. You ruined a good shot. Sorry PTL3

This is a very interesting shot :) I like the high key approach and the cow has a unique appearance with the white band around it. The post processing here has created a strange 'blue' tint on the underside of the cow that looks slightly strange... I think that a b/w conversion on this particular shot may be an overall improvement... good shot :) - Please help us enhance this site that we all enjoy by commenting on photos each week. The photographers really appreciate it :) - setzler

Good title. Why the over exposure???
11/26/2002 01:09:00 AM
Too over exposed.

Too blown out and overexposed. The white hair around his middle blends into the white background making it look like he's been cut in half.
11/25/2002 12:57:00 PM
I would like this image better if it was less overexposed.
11/25/2002 09:16:00 AM
Shouldn't have done so much post processing. Having all the white so blown out is distracting to the shot.
11/25/2002 08:14:00 AM
Oh dear! with the white background and his white middle he looks like he is cut in half!
11/25/2002 05:11:00 AM
Overexposed, noisy and bad color rendition of whites in the shadows.
11/25/2002 01:25:00 AM
Hahaha... yes, it sure is!

The bottom of the image seems to be washed out by the lighting, but overall a nice capture.
