Galleries: Black and White, Infrared
Date Uploaded: Apr 23, 2010

taken with my IR modified Canon D60. Open RAW in ACR, adjusting black level and color temp. Crop, adjustment layer for curves, B&W. USM at large radius for contrast boost. resize to 1600 px, sharpen, resize to 780. add border, SFW. then remove border, resize to 700, add border, SFW again! I felt it was too large at 800 px for most monitors so I reduced to 720.

The lighting here really makes the shot. I like it more the more I look at it!

This is a phenomenal use of light. Excellent tones throughout. I would like to see a wider crop to give the tree that much more significance, but I'm guessing there were other trees/whatever that would take away from how powerful this is. Truly excellent, and one of the best in this challenge.
