CRITIQUE CLUB! (bwahahahahaha)
Overall impression: Great photo that captures a rather routine moment but is easy for the viewer to understand what's going on. A good way of framing an everyday event in an interesting manner.
Focus and framing of the shot are great. I like the disenchanted look on "Harry Potter's" face, but also the interest on the face of the man on the left. (He's like "what the hell are you doing with a camera on the subway?") The color, unfortunately, is pretty washedout and the lack of contrast makes the lower half of the picture pretty much blend together. The women in the lower right with the dark hair are almost completely obscured in the midst of all of the black clothing; that's unfortunate because you lose the "standing vs. sitting" aspect of the train. The lights at the top are also a bit harsh -- not much you can do about that, though.
I think the thing that is most lacking in this picture is people's expressions about being on the train. One man in the foreground is dejected, one man is looking toward you, and everyone else is just...there. Perhaps a shot of someone looking at someone else, or someone rolling their eyes, or some other image of disgust would illustrate the point of the photograph better.
Who am I to say, really? It beat the pants off of my submission. Good work -- a nicely captured moment in time.

very interesting photo. the contrast of the black at the bottom and white and the top really works. the angles are interesting. the overall lack of colors other than yellow and skintones, and the muting of those makes it look cold and mechanical. ...and kinda like penguins. beware the penguins. 10? yeah, 10. |

I love the coloring on this. You have done well capturing the mood. I do hope that one guy looking at you didn't take offense. I really like the effect the bars have on the mood of the picture. Kind of a captivating feeling, I think. Great lighting, and contrasts. 9 -- karmat |

I think this pic would've been better framed with the guy in the right as the predominant subject in this pic. The lady with her back to us is really making this picture dark as she is wearing black and has black hair. The guy on the right I think would've made a good center of attention since we have a pretty good look at his face. Also, putting this in greyscale and boosting the brightness might have helped quite a bit. - Inspzil |

2, maybe 3, wonder what you are doing. He looks discusseded. At you, or the delay? Can't tell for sure. Nice shot and news worthy. Good picture. I like the soft colors here. Adds to their moods. Great execution. Nice finishing touch. Technically sound photo. Good job well done. PTL8 |

Fits great to the topic. Maybe not the cover page but for sure the local section. BTW: I'm lucky not to drive the underground: atmosphere seems pretty odd.

Awesome shot, good PJ. The only prob I see is the central figure has his back to you, and that distracts me for some reason. 8 nards656 |

An excellent photograph, that perserves the mood of the riders as well as the sence of motion. I like the post-shot processing, it is done just right. Make top three on my list. |

Good shot. Wondering what could be done to this to make it a great shot. Will let you know. How about zooming in on the guys face who is hanging from the bar and try to get some disguist on his face because the train is so packed. |

I really like the way only 3 colours dominate the image. Excellent composition - I like the way the guy on the right fills that side of the frame, seems to balance it out well. Shame you couldn't get the guy on the left to look away (or even disappear so that we could see the girl!). Top shot, well done. |

A bit dark, but a difficult contrasty scene. |

One of my top 3 in the challenge. It fits the topic better than the vast majority. It's very clear. I'm telling you that it's the photographer and not the camera that make a shot! I really like how all the people got together and decided to dress is such similar tones. It's almost like a black and white which is totally cool. No complaints. ~indi |

adding some depth of field with the apature setting so the focus is on the man in the far left that is looking at us would really make this a great shot I think.. just my opinion which means I might be wrong.. but I do like this photo! ~anachronite |

Very good feeling of tension. A bit dark especially at the bottom. Did you try this in B & W? Good shot. DPz |
