 Beach volleyball court at East Beach in Santa Barbara. Very lonely because all the action was down by the pier/harbor, as the professional beach volleyball tour (AVP) was in town this week.

1/3 stop underexposed; Lightroom preset with no vignette (bleach bypass); sharpen, crop, resize.

Yes, another unworthy entry. I continue to truly suck (and this is my high score so far!) Apologies to my teammates. :-(

You're too modest :) Perhaps the average score is not too high, but your team must have been very happy with the result. Looks like you can still make wonderful photos.

Deb - I really thought this was a slick entry. The angles and the lines created by the net, the poles, the shadows, and the ocean worked well together. You got a 7 from me during voting.

FWIW, I thought this was a well presented image for the challenge. I thought the composition caught the essence of beach volleyball; liked the low angle and the leading line of the pole to the sun.
ETA: Just read your notes; it's a very worthy entry, just under appreciated...

Proud to say I'm one of your two 9s :) I really like this. From the sunburst and flare, to the strip of white sand that looks like it's had some recent fun. Not an unworthy entry by any stretch of the imagination. Just a bunch of tight-butt voters getting their jollies as usual :(
