 This was a failed attempt. I have many on files.lol

The object here was to portray the Victorian era of suppressed love. You know, the orient express antique lamp, the fancy leaded glass wine cups, the cute doily and the fancy sheets all put together to keep the eye busy and bored and wondering what kind of interesting love can come out of this. lol

What happened next? please tell me. did "lovers" sit back on the bed and reflect on the myriad hues of violet and purple in the shot? Did one "lover" say to the other- wow- I love these purple satin sheets and 2 million candle power lamp behind a white umbrella above the bed? I hope not!

The lighting works really well for this image. Its soft and warm. My only suggestion would be that perhaps the lamp makes the image a little cluttered. I would have tried putting the glasses nearer where the lamp is and removed the lamp. Just a suggestion.

Well constructed composition and good exposure. The cord behind the lamp is a little distracting but overall a very pleasing image to view (8)

Where's the lipstick?

This is kind of boring. The lighting is rather flat. There's very little drama. The fussy white doily ruins any suggestion of sexiness.

Probably wouldn't have noticed the lipstick on the glass w/o the title and think it would've been much more noticeable on the frontside of the left glass. Did you consider purple lipstick? It is rather subtle the way it's positioned now.

Focus apears soft and image is a cropped a little close to the bottom of the glass. Very busy composition here, not sure what the focus is. I'm immediately drawn to the stems of the wineglasses and the wine itself. Perhaps eliminating a few objects would help i.e. wineglasses on the sheets, covering the pillow. You'd have eliminated the lamp, nightstand, and doily which is 50% of your image.
