My inspiration for this image was the sequel to Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.. Alice Through The Looking Glass. The themes and settings of Through the Looking Glass make it a kind of mirror image of Wonderland. Upon leaving the house where it had been a cold, snowy night Alice enters a sunny spring garden where the flowers have the power of human speech; they perceive Alice as being a "flower that can move about." Hence, the title.
This image was captured on Feb 14th, Valentine's Day, at Otts Exotic Gardens. The day was cold and snow covered as a Nor'easter had come through on Feb 10th leaving blizzard-like conditions behind. But, the tulips were lovely and this one was especially unique in that appeared to be welcoming us with open arms.

ROFL....MOST things in here have been "beaten to death"! How many liquid drips, bees, smoke patterns, broken lightbulbs, fireworks, birds, flowers, zoo shots and too many other things to list have we all seen over and over again?! LOL
This is a beautiful shot that is very different than the standard "flower shots"...especially, with bees on them (LOL).
Frankly, I think that the out of focus petal, across the bottom front welcomes the viewer's eye to the central focus of the shot....the beautiful, glowing interior of the flower! :)
And, sorry, but the comment about "jagged edges detracting from the picture???? What jaggedness and what would it "detract" from????? (wish there was a puzzled face symbol LOL)
Lovely, work! I like it! Thumbs up from me! :) Wish I had have voted in this challenge but, alas, I wasn't in here during this challenge due to being busy with work.
something feels awkward for me with the unfocused petal running directly across the over-sharpened stamen. But believe me I am not a professional at coming up with creative looking flower shots :( as witnessed back in the day here:
Maybe it's just my calibration (or perhaps lack there of) but I think the center of the flower is too bright. Also, too tightly cropped, but overall very nice :)
