This is a small, 1 inch high pot of model paint, it originally had orange paint in it so I had to clean it out. I managed to slice my finger on the sharp edge inside the tin so luckily there are no blood spots on the picture anywhere...

I bought a pot of purple paint, used a syringe (borrowed from my work) and gently squeezed out the larger drop of paint coming from the tin. I then very very gently squeezed out the other little drops as I thought it added a more realistic look.

I spot edited out some dust spots, removed some of the reflections, selected the pot & paint, inverted the selection, adjusted levels to whiten the background, a little Match Colour and upped the intensity of the purple, a little Neat Image and a touch of USM…

Nice, shadow takes away from the overall effect though...

Pretty nice but the purple needs more purple color.

Intereseting idea and nice color.. but I'm not sure about the lighting. The bright glare on the top right of the can is a bit bothersome.

I don't buy that the paint really came out of that can.

Very uninteresting. Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely vunerable to this as well.

I really like the composition of this image. The lighting is also well done. Just enough to get the tonal gradations in the paint looking right.

Nice composition. I'm wondering why the reflected light under the shadow of the paintcan is yellow while the highlights on the side are bluish in tone. I would've have desaturated those two elements I just mentioned as well as giving the background a pure white tone. Lighting appears warm. Excellent composition! It's just the lighting that bothers me.

Nice idea, but the focus seems a bit soft and this shot really needs crisp focus. You did a great job with the paint. Good job!
