this required a very complicated setup. background is two different construction paper, there are two black construction paper to the left and right to avoid unwanted reflections. two soft boxes lit the background from behind and in between background and black construction papers. i wanted colors to spread all through out the glasses and i wanted even exposure. and i am almost perfectly satisfied with this. i hope i wont get hammered becasue it doesnt show purple directly:)

good idea...something without the color purple in it..but the 2 together make purple.

Good job on this shot. I dont think i like seeing the table under the glass though.

very creative! wonderful picture!

I like the clarity of the foreground as opposed to the background. The colour scheme "suggesting" purple doesn't grab me.

This must be Jacko's entry :) I love this. I love the lines and how the purple comes in both indirectly and directly. Good job.

I've seen this shot twice.
I don't care that it is done before BUT, i can tell you that the other 2 are better.
1st the "table" is distracting
2nd you have some "glare" on the glass
3th The colors reflected true the water are more bright then the colors of the "paper"
4th I know when you mix up red and blue that you get purple, but I dont see purple.
The challenge said show or suggest the color purple, so you meet the challenge, I like the shot but I also like to talk inteligent :) 7

Another effect that we've seen before and must be technically executed well to score. There appears to be a white "smudge" in the blue half and as well in the bottom right of the red half. Could've been easily corrected in Photoshop. Wineglass also appears soft in focus.

I get it. I hope others do too and dont drop you commetns like. " Wheres the purple?" Or score you less than five because you did not meet the challenge.!!

This is a hard shot to take and it turned out really well. Perfect composition and very crisp focus on the glass - maybe could use a bit more DOF for the table. Nice job!

Nice setup, it does "suggest" purple to me. 8

Good luck...
