Ever since getting my new 70-300 lens, I have been waiting for a clear night to test it with a moon shot. Finally, I got the opportunity, and grabbed this one.
To make sure I got it as clear as possible, I exposed as bright as I could without blowing out any highlights, used mirror lockup, turned off the image stabilization, and used a cable release.
Post processing included playing a bit with brightness and contrast, turned down saturation, sharpening a good amount, and turning off almost all noise reduction (all in RAW).
Focal length here was the full 300mm
Edit: I updated the image with one that was less exposed, as suggested by bassbone. It shows even better what the lens can do :)
