I don't care how many DNMC comments I get.
This actually IS my family in this picture. So stick it!
Haha, I know this is a kind of a stretch for the challenge, but I do think it depicts something valuable about family. We face many trials together, but ultimately it is keeping together that allows us to go past them.

This is on the climb of Mount Whitney I did this weekend. I sprained my ACL two weeks ago, so by High Camp (about 3/4rds up, and where I took the picture) I was hurting pretty badly and decided to stay behind.
Plus, I had this picture in my head, so...it wasn't my own weakness. Photography MADE me do it :-P

Anticipated critique is that the hiking path is cut off on the right. I had one shot where that was not the case, but I was missing the foreground elements which I found important to make the shot.
Edit was a lot of removing a severe yellow tinge from the photo: curves, color balance, levels. And also a lot of minor spot editing, removing some distracting small rocks as well as some hikers that did not belong to my family hiking higher up. Mere tiny black specks in the snow.

I don't know what "stuck and rotated" means, but it is perfectly alright if you thought it didn't fit the challenge. This is one of those shots that I just submitted for myself. Heck, if someone else had submitted this, I probably would have given it a 4 for not meeting the challenge myself ;-)

I can appreciate that it did technically fit the challenge, but that was not really conveyed to the viewer and was more landscape than family shot. A great shot in spite of it all. I'll consider it stuck and rotated. ;-}

Beautiful landscape - but the sense of family just isn't there when the people become dots.

Beautiful scenery. I'm assuming the little ants are people :)

This is a tough call. Those tiny dots *could* be a family, but this is really a landscape and does not convey anything about family to me. A very cool landscape, however.
