This didn't do well, but the reason I submitted it for family was very meaningful to me. This is my Grandpa's handbuilt homestead, where my mother was born and grew up. They didn't have running water nor electricity. There is a creek in front of the house where they use to keep their milk, cheese etc all cooled. Gandpa and Grandma lived off the land growing and butchering what they ate. Their whole story is a chapter out of Little House on the Prarie. The old home is over 100 yrs old and since no one is taking care of it will probaly not last a lot longer. It's where my Dad came to "court" my mother so, it is a BIG piece of my family. In fact besides my mother it's the only piece of my family left standing.

lovely light on the trees - it adds so much worth to this old building - but this just seems like an old building - maybe a connection to an item like an old rocking chair or other 'personal item' may have helped drive home the point...

I love the contrast between the green and the house.

although this is a nice image, i feel as though its link to the theme is tenuous. for the family theme (personally) i think there needs to be some sort of human element - not necessarily a human, but not something so divorced from life.
