 Yay; found a ladybug this morning :-) Crawling around on my yarrow, presumably looking for aphids to eat. Good for her!

36mm extension tube and handheld (yet again).

PP - rotated slightly, cropped, white balance, increased contrast, dodged eye a little (catchlight was there), resized, sharpened, added border.

You are making good use of that 50/36mm combo. I like the way you isolated the subject in the deep greens of the BG in this for color contrast with the subject.

Sweet! Yep, I handhold all my macro shots, too, I don't have the patience/concentration to use even a monopod out in the field (it was so hot/humid this morning). Nice detail in this--you're lucky to have ladybugs. I hope you can get a shot that includes a ladybug & an aphid, that would be so cool.

Just magical .. the greens are filled with various shades that make her just pop ... I love lady bugs and they are so great for getting rid of aphids
