 The photo is of the Lili'uokalani Protestant Church in Hale'iwa Town, Oahu, Hawaii at sunrise.

This is my first submission to a Member Challenge. This is also my first attempt at using a layer mask in Photoshop to clean up an HDR; I absolutely love the results.

I took 3 photos: -2, 0, and +2; imported them into Lightroom; and merged them in Photomatix Pro. I actually made two separate HDRs in Photomatix: one with the smoothing on High and the other with the smoothing on Low. Then imported both HDRs into Photoshop and used a layer mask blend the best portions of both images. Image was then sent into Lightroom for minor adjustments and cropping.

Love the colors and contrast between the blue of the sky and the red sunrise reflected on the stone.

This is another frame-within-a-frame where the frame steals the show though saturation and contrast. The building in the back should be where the eye goes not the frame.
