I guess some explaining is in order. Knowing that there would be a lot of photos dealing with images that came up on Google I wanted to do something that was original. With only a few hours to spare I had two choices, this or the smoking Soldier from the Iraq War. I looked frantically for my helmet and camouflage but could find neither so I went with this photo instead. My wife immediately said she disliked the thought of the image but the reproduction was decent. That's when I realized this might be one of those photos that might cause a stir with people. Let me say that I have the utmost respect for those who lost loved ones and friends that day (9-11, for those who don't know) and I can't imagine the horror this man felt to take his own life. The image is a haunting reminder that individual people and their lives changed forever on that day and will never be the same again.

You have, I think rightly, turned this image into an abstract.

Powerful. You got some big cajones, mang...

Truthfully, this was one of the images that I considered doing, just couldn't figure out how to pull it off. You did a fine job. I'd like to know the details. (Assuming you didn't do the Posthumous method...)

8-)

Nicely done.

(...and I think it's a nice tribute, as well)

I hope this isn't some sculpture and you really duplicated this yourself. If so, you deserve my 10.

This is tricky. I would say yes, this is a famous photo, but man you chose a sensitive subject. So I'm really having a hard time deciding how to score this. I can't wait to see the comments on this one lol.

The semi-abstract effect is neat. I would have voted this higher if the lines were completely vertical. A quick fix with perspective correction. 6

Is that carpet? or what?

Neat image, obviously tragic source, but a nice tribute to a terrible image.. 8

Interesting interpretation of a very powerful, controversial image.
