This is the first focus stack I've done for this challenge. 3 exposures with different focal points merged. I probably could've done just two, since I was shooting at f/11.
I'm curious to try the same thing on the same flower but with f/2.8 or f/4, so I can isolate from the background naturally (I used a gaussian blur).
Natural light, tripod.

ETA:
To answer PGerst's question on distance- hm. not too sure :(
The flower is about the size of a nickel, both in diameter and depth. I cropped a bit off. I definitely could have gotten quite a bit closer but this was shot specifically for focus stacking so I kept things wider a bit so I'd have room for my cropping once the shots were aligned (as you focus you technically change the focal length slightly, which alters the composition, thus you must plan with dead space).
