Wow. this is really strong!

I really like the processing. I bet it would be really cool in a low sat as well. Maybe even a duotone... there's a really nice balance between the smoothness of the water and the punch of the static areas. Might be cool if you worked with gentle colors to highlight the difference between the two sides of this image.

A great idea - definitely working towards the 'impact'.

Location looks great, but the harsh and busy black and white treatment makes it too hard to see what's going on here.

This really doesn't say Solitude & peace to me, its just way too busy. I think the colour may have helped this image

The contrast, combined with the "busy-ness" of this scene, make it really hard for any single element to grab and engage me. It's just... there.
