Exposed at -0.33ev. Tweaked white balance, bumped contrast and saturation slightly, curves, sharpen, all in Aperture.

Sunset in Abu Dhabi, dhows (boats) on the Arabian Gulf. At certain times of the year, the skies have a dense layer of dust on the horizon. At sunset, the sun disappears behind it far above the horizon. Everything turns deep gold.

Taken with 100-400 zoom fully extended, plus 1.4x Canon teleconverter (640mm total). With 1.6x sensor factor, it's like a 900mm lens! Woo! |

| Wow! Just scanning through the challenge results and saw this. It made me stop & think, "Whoa, this shot is out of place!" I don't understand the low scores for such a striking photo. Great work. |

| Great silhouettes! I think my favorite part of this image, though, is how the sea just blurs up into the sky with no horizon line - like they are one. Really interesting color up at the top of the frame as well. |
