Thank you Jonathan! :) I guess for you, it didn't "suck"! :) You did answer my question by your response and I thank you for that! :) |

Thank you Michelle and Steve! :)
I don't know if it's my eyes (cataracts) or what gives but, I cannot see the "oof" in this shot on the books??? I have a new monitor too! LOL Perhaps, it's that my eyes aren't trained to see these things well????? Maybe, it was that my camera was too close...or, maybe, it was my processing???? I think Steve is right in saying that the background was too strong. I have to learn to select properly and then, I can manipulate the backgrounds a bit better. Gotta learn how to mask properly rather than the selection tools which are time consuming and less accurate. Thanks to you both for commenting! :) |

I didn't have time to vote all of this challenge, and this one did not come up for me. Perhaps the composition is a little too tight, with the books shoved over in the corner like they are. The strong background also grabs my attention away from the books. Hope that helps. |

Well I guess I'll leave a comment that explains the score I gave you. I gave this a 5. I thought you did fine with the lighting and not overexposing anything. But since the subject was books, and you have them so prominent in the foreground, I felt that they should have been in focus. For some reason the part of the table to the left looks sharp and part of the books on the left edge too. The only thing I can think is that maybe your camera was just a smidge too close to the books? |
