 AAARGH! NO TEXT! This is driving me crazy. The DPC rules clearly state no text. Yet the text element is required in an absolut ad. I'm quite sure if I put text in I'll get DQ'ed. I'm also quite sure if I leave text out then Murphy's Law will have everyone else put text in and I'll end up in the bottom of the heap. There's no win.

Anyway, I found this tougher than I thought. It's a good challenge. I've been wanting to practice my product shots, and this is a product shot with a specular, transparent, curvey object. What could be tougher?

I had a lot of fun though. It took me hours to get a staged setup for the classical pose, then I ran through about a half dozen different ideas. I had a backup plan if all these failed, but it was so labor intensive to get the classical pose done that there's no way in hell I'm going to plan B. :)

The "CLASSIC" is, of course, a bloody mary. Lots of recipes abound, but the simplest bloody mary recipe is just V8 and Tabasco. I added some black pepper to round out the composition.

Very nicely shot! It just somehow doesn't have any real "punch" to it and can't figure out why. I'm sure it's doing well though because it is so well shot.
