 I'm not sure why I'm submitting this, other than because I went to the effort of setting it up and taking the photo.

I have stopped caring much about my scores.

This picture kind of hurts my eyes...

Cool, this did much better than I thought it would! I seem to have elicited reactions all across the spectrum, and I have one of the fullest most normal-looking bell curves on the voting that I've seen in a while. Some loved it, some hated it, and some thought it was middling to decent. Interesting that pasta would evoke such a range of responses.

Oh, and for the record--the period from conception to upload took maybe 40 minutes. I've spent far longer on many other shots!

I agree with Hawkeye... there was something about this picture that just really grabbed me. Nice work!

There was just something about this image that said mycelium to me. Glad to see my senses are sharp. There is something about the appeal of this image that goes beyond easy description. Is it the even balance of tonality caused by the consistent contrast between shadow and highlights? Is it the repetitive pattern disrupted by jagged edges? Is it the points of chaos amidst the order?

I don´t dare to start imagining how long it took you to put them like that. Nice idea, and nice movement in the picture, although it tends to get a bit boring. Maybe pasta tricolore would have been a bit more exciting, but could be even more boring as well. I like the idea and executions though.

Great desktop image, or wallpaper. I love the lighting and colors, and feel that this is really nicely processed. But it lacks a strong focal point.
