Okay so here is how you make a posthumous mess out of two skewsme photos:

Open photo 1 in photoshop:

Put photo 2 in a layer on top of photo 1:

Decrease opacity of photo 2 and move photo 1 to align the highlight with the bird's head.

Use another layer of photo 1 to cover up the blank space you created on the left side.

Erase some of the top photo 1 edge so it's not a defined line anymore.

Use calculations to b/w on the whole thing.

Bump it up with some curves.

Use hue/sat colorize to make it sepia.

OOh, that's interesting. What a fun SC. Had not imagined how it would work, but this is really very cool.
