Last minute entry. I got a new remote today for my camera, and with little time to find a good spherical subject I was about to pass on the other challenge. I then realized my new remote was rectangular in shape so I decided to enter this challenge. Nothing fancy, but it's a clean shot and hope it at least scores in the 5's.

Forseealbe comments:

It's boring
The cable is distracting

I just consider it a product photography shot for the most part. :)

Thanks Josh...I appreciate that. I have to admit that I think I got a little screwed on this shot as well. I really thought it would be at least low to mid 5's as an average shot. The voters were pretty harsh on it. For sharpness and exposure I think I deserved at least a 5.0 score. Oh well....thanks again!

LOL...yes, not even worthy of the brown! LOL. I've always been self aware of what people will probably say about my photos, but yes...I recently started adding some of my own thoughts and predictions to my comment section. I agree, whether you acknowledge it ahead of time in the comment section or you're aware of "issues" going in at least you know where the weaknesses are and can build on them going forward.

Ouch. And you didn't even get the coveted brown out of it. That stinks.

I noticed you started doing the same thing that I do and trying to predict the critiques. It really does help one to develop a critical eye for their own photography.

i think one side of the remote is too light the other is too dark, I don't mind the shadows cast by the cord.

The shadows seem a bit harsh here and there's not much other than a rectangle-ish remote. Some kind of extra detail would have been great.
