Ok, here is my 13,000th comment:
I, too, sometimes have to yank the cup from my grandma's hands when she falls asleep and won't let go. :P
hehehe, that was just a warm up.
I like the image, although from a wedding album perspective I would like to have seen the older woman included in the shot (not just her hands). I suppose the bride won't forget whose hands they are though. Assuming the younger hands are the bride's - if not, I would have included both people (faces) in the shot. Then again you may have cropped this for the challenge. As far as the score, it's very respectable for a FS. In a "Hands" challenge, it would have easily been top 5 or 10 with a 6.8-7.0. Overall, it is a terrific image and I can tell you are very pleased with it, so put it at the top of your own personal personal best list. :-) |

Lovely, lovely image... the contrast in the age of the hands is beautiful. |

Well seen and taken. Maybe slightly more of the old hands in the frame would have been good 7 |

Perfect choice for black and white. Gives a classic feel and brings out the details in the wrinkly skin. |

another "a story with a single shot"... i like everything here... the difference of age due to the hands, gesture, is really a good photograph... compliments. 7 |

The warmth of this shot is wonderful. Contrast of youth versus age, and the glimmer of the trim on the sleeve. Perfect for B&W, too - keeps it slightly understated. |

I find this an evocative image. Even without the title, I would read the "story" of the image of an "offering" from the younger person (daughter-in-law???) to the elder (mother-in-law???). Like the tight composition. I think great choice for B&W; making an assumption that the colors of the clothes would distract from the exchange/activity of the hands. Nice image. |

Beautiful. Perfectly processed. The detail and lighting really pull the eye to the cup and hands. |
