Kogel Bay near Gordon's Bay, Western Cape, South Africa.

Approximate coordinates:
34°13'48.94"S, 18°50'39.66"E

Taken at the 18mm end of the lens. Used a 3-stop graduated neutral density filter to hold back exposure in the sky.

RAW processing in Lightroom, resize, sharpen and save for web.

Yes, another image of Kogel Bay, a beach photographed to death by myself and fellow South African photographers, but this was the only time that I was able to go out and take photos in July.

The detail on the foreground rock is superb. I am always a sucker for misty seascapes . Well done!

Amazing use of slow shutter speed. The rock looks like a piece of gold.

Looking at the sky I belive the frontal lighting was artificially produced. It's lovely and I'm hoping you will explain how this was achieved. The detail in the forground rock is brilliant!

How in the world did you get this light? This you Philip? Although the sky I suppose let you down here it still fits the scene and theme for this - dark mood in the mountains. I want to know all about the processing here, if I may of course. 8
