Bondage? Sorry, but I agree you were reaching. |

I like the idea - the silouette of the cat against the curtains. The bits of light peeking through. Perhaps cropping would bring the subject more into focus (figureatively) I'd crop the right hand side out at the division of the window leaving the height of the picture the same, curtains towersing above the cat, as (s)he longingly gazes at the forbidden world outside. Yeah, I have cats. |

Nice use of artistic touch, I like the balanced lighting. |

I like the use of backlighting. Very effective. I see a little bit of grain, not sure if it was added in post-processing or a result of low light condition. I think it adds character to the photo so it's not a bad thing. 8 |

You might have pulled it off if the cat didn't seem so content. That sort of ruins any sense of detention. |

This one gave me a more imprisoned feel rather than impending freedom. As you yourself said, could be a bit of a reach! The focus and tonal range is also hurting this one IMHO. |

Not to worry, most of the entries are 'reaching', including mine! |

I'm not quite sure what I would do to make this a better picture or what could raise its score...I'll just go with the 'kinda reaching' |

Don't tell us you're reaching if you are. We'll figure it out for ourselves. |

The texture in the drapes is the most intriguing part of the image. Cat silhouette is also interesting - but you are right about being a stretch to find any freedom (for me.) |

I like the photo quite a bit but I agree it has a tenuous connection to the challenge. For one thing, I dislike defining a term by its opposite which is essentially what has been done here.
Photographically, I like the mood, the verticals created by the drapes, the triangle of light peeping out, and the clearly defined sillouhette of teh cat. Pretty much everything, in fact. |
