 A running thought process through out the week...

Just noticed with the few comments received that I put the wrong photo in...I changed monitors this week...went back to a SONY flat screen..and it wasn't set properly..and it is showing edits that I was playing around with, with no intention of submitting.


It is doing half way decent, so I am surprised...as know with the monitor reset...I can see the obvious flub...it really looks like shit...lol


Lets use this mistake by me to see if there are improperly set monitors judging this Challenge...lol...(leaving it in and not Self DQing)...interestingly so..I would say there is...as the score at this point is above 5.5000


Score is rising to above 5.6000...I can't figure out if the score is low because of the flub...or it is too high because of the voters "monitor" issue...lol


Continues to rise...I actually have to be more careful when I submit at the last moment..making sure I have the right photo set...another comment talks of a blue tint to the pills...I knew of that also...was having trouble with all of my settings this week..and didn't know how to get back to where I liked the look...


Honestly...I really wasn't happy with the whole bit...tried other things...but at the last moment I went back to this version


Rising above 5.7000...seems a lot of people are looking past my flub...or my point of this whole exercise...they don't see it.


I finally got a recorded "1"...The vote has reached 5.7717..at 184 votes. The 185 vote was the "1"...and it is my assumption that this might be the start downswing of the image... as it seems just as the first days voting is harsh...the last days and last few hours are just as harsh...which means to me that if all photos fall into this type of voting pattern...the miss placed submission of mine with it's flub...is NOT going down because of the flub...it is just the normal DPC thing these days...lol



Now post challenge I have here the photo I wanted to put in...still not perfect but of course better than my flub

all I can say is try not to submit last second...I truly thought the photo did well...and I appreciate the votes...one last thing..maybe we ought to check our monitors...I didn't see it...and of course if I did...it wouldn't have been in the Challenge...Thanks to everyone...

I think the lighting is not placed optimally. The pills are rather in the dark (and have an odd blue tinge), and the shadow spill to the right doesn't work, especially the harsh line at the front.

the hard shadows are a little distracting, and the focus could be sharper

This feels like a good stock-photo like shot. Nice plain background and good lighting. The one thng that is throwing me off is the strange dark spot to the right of the spilled pills.

Not suitable as stock, readable brand names. Lighting looks a bit strange, what's that edge at right side?
