A large stone wall at the Apartheid Museum in South Africa.
Taken with polarised filter to cut reflection off rocks / wire and also to give the sky a more pleasing blue look.
Processing
Open RAW, adjust recovery, fill light, blacks, brightness and contrast, curves and saturation, export to PS, crop, auto levels, brightness and contrast, unsharp mask (30,40,0), unsharp mask (150,0.3,0), convert to 8 bits, save for web.
Hope to get around my average of 5.5

During challenge...
Agreed that a Gabion Wall would also suit a civil engineering roll, this Gabion wall was built at the Apartheid Museum in South Africa.
The significance and reason it was designed by the architect is due to the fact that the Black people used to work on the mines as cheap labour and the rocks in the wall are symbolic of the mining days in the past. Hope that clears up why I chose this subject. |

Very strong lines in this and good comp. The fact that this scored 5.5 in architecture when few would really see much of the theme in this is testimony to the elements working well together to make this work. Good shot |

A gabion wall along the highway is more a representation of civil engineering rather than architecture. Though you have a great prespecvive shot of the wall here and it would be great for a contract document. |
