 I took this picture while I was in Yellowstone. I wish the log in the background didn't look like it was going into the elk's neck.

Editing:
Import to Lightroom
Create 7 different versions of the image
Used photomatix to make the hdr
import hdr image to lightroom
boost blacks
Photoshop to save for web.

Something about this image did not resonate with me. Perhaps there is a HDR effect that leaves everything in the midtones. Perhaps the coloring on the face just muddles the animal's features (eyes not really visable). You could try gettting the animal at a different angle or doing some more interesting behavior to add a little pizzaz to the image.
