Let me just say I am not happy about this DQ at all. It shouldn't take a DQ to clear the rules up. It may be argued that the line "[a single scene is] defined as a scene whose composition/framing does not change" is perfectly clear. To me, I wasn't sure because just before that wording you are allowed to use up to 10 frames for a single scene. I would argue that my final image is a single scene. For a Free-Study image with advanced editing, the door is wide open for all kinds of interesting work. But if you want to capture a scene that isn't possible without stitching, apparently you are SOL. I'm just a little confused as to what the spirit of the rule is. I guess stitched panoramas are universally disallowed except for those rare Expert Editing Rules. For the most part, the rules are the rules and I have never had a beef with them. It just feels crummy to have a DQ on something you have some pride in.

On a visit to my brother's place in Portland, we spent an afternoon up at the falls. Thanks goes out to my girlfriend and brother for being so patient as I shot every angle with all my lenses and a zillion bracketed shots for HDR conversion.

This is down the road from the more popular Multnomah Falls. The Latourell Falls really captured my attention because of the interesting rock formation and the water falling unobstructed to the floor. This photo is down the path a bit further where the road crosses the creek.

180 degree panorama from 10 handheld exposures in RAW with my old D70 with an IR filter. The rest is Photoshop: white balance, swap red and blue, auto-contrast, save as JPEG, stitch in MS ICE, crop, resize, boarders.

there is too much border... it would have been an awesome shot other wise. i think its a cool shot anyways, but just that border...

Interesting image. I like the roads that are on either side. The highlights and odd angles are a bit distracting. I am afraid that my eyes are drawn much more to the border than the photo. A simplier border would have worked much better.

My kids love this hike. Hope you did the whole loop. I have GOT to get me an IR setup.
