 Step 1: Buy my wife some roses.

Step 2: Suddenly get an idea for a picture that involves the roses.

Step 3: Remove the petals from all of the roses except one and place them on white poster board.

Step 4: Apologize to my wife. Promise to buy her some more roses. :-)

In post, I cropped, adjust layers and curves, brought up the contrast and saturation, then blurred and brightened a bit to soften the final image.

I expected this to be way up there. Maybe the flower haters? Personally I love it. Just tell your wife that now she has roses that wont fade... er... somethin'...

:-). It's amazing the lengths folks will go to slip in a flower shot.. This is really neat, although I think I would have prefered the intact rose to be comming up from below, it looks somehow odd upside down.

Superb idea and very well executed as well. Colors really stand out nicely against your white background. The stem seems a bit over saturated - but that's a minor point.
