 We decided to try out the river boating experience in Kinugawa, which is now part of Nikko City. It's a resort area with hot springs and various attractions.
The river trip is about 7 km long and very genteel compared to the one I really want to go on, viz. Colorado River through Grand Canyon.
At the ticket office there are lots of photos on the wall, including one of a young-looking Leonardo DiCaprio who must have made the trip. At the moment in Japan, he's the face of Bridgestone Tyres.

This is actually looking up-river, not far from the start. We were in the middle boat of five.

This is a lovely farewell piece. It's like they are going to just go around the bend and disappear. A nice ending.
