 Tried to mimic "Spike a Drink" by Tranquil

I made an attempt at this about 4 years back, but without an off-camera flash the sharpness and DOF were impossible to achieve. Now that I got one and had the patience to go through some 100 flashes in my eyes, I re-attempted it. The tack just didn't co-operate with either my timing or the position/direction, so I had to expand the frame to include all of the glass and settle for a crownless bubble.

Certainly not my best work, but 1's and 2's? On the other hand, I am very grateful for those of you who rated this highly. I'm also beginning to understand that this kind of shots have become a cliche on DPC, and that there are a few photographers (IreneM for eg) who do this extremely well. I'll keep learning and hopefully get to the standard beyond cliche.
