 Was out in Brooklyn (SA) looking for some pick’s for this challenge. Found a high spot away from where most security guards would spot me.

Noticed this solitary guy. He was actually busy on his phone (headset connected to his ear) He really looked very depressed and from the phone conversation he also was not very happy. Have some other pic’s with him waving his arms about, clearly frustrated

I could not zoom in close enough to get this crop but knew exactly what I wanted to do with this. My intention was to have him seem separated, alone. The black surface he was sitting on I processed a bit more to bring out the blacks and it was great seeing the outside surface white. I was hoping this would come across strong enough to have the play on words – Doom in business vs. Boom in business. Black representing the dark side (Doom) and white(Boom), outside of his present position.

Not once did Paul’s reference to the graph cross my mind. Like your take and perspective on it though Paul. Thanks to all for their input and feedback.

Of course I was “apprehended” shortly after this shot and I was completely innocent. How was I supposed to know I’m not allowed to take pictures. I showed the security guard some random shots I took of the setting sun and he liked them. 

This gets more witty each time I look. Despair, the empty chairs, and yet the graph's growth curve swoops upward. I suppose he sold short. This is my top pick.
Some might say it's not in the style of nixter (not B&W; not perhaps as elegantly reductive as the nix; blah blah) but I don't think he'd think that. It has his spirt all right; his sly wit and his deft visual echoes.
