Something eerie and disturbing about the foreground smiling gent. Well done.

Great composition and DOF! I would love to see the story behind this. 8

Looks like some residual nixter. I want to like this more than I do, but it feels kind of accidental -- or disjointed. I'm not making a connection between your two subjects, though your composition suggests that maybe there is one.

And what's the dying breed? Smokers? Straphangers? Blurry people? I must be missing something (wouldn't be the first time)...

Nice shot. Two different subjects and two different thoughts.

Nice effect with the blurred out man. Not sure it really goes with the background though. They do not seem to compliment each other or really tell a story. I do not like these letterox borders. In this case the border stands out here as much as the photo.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: A dying breed - in more ways than one! What an interesting composition - the juxtaposition between the foreground and background subjects is as stark as it is effective - I really like that. I like the colours of the bus too and the overall golden lighting hue.

Critical stuff: The foreground hand - without it I think the image would have much more mystery; it would make me think more about where you were in relation to the subject what you took the shot.

Overall: A very effective image.

Nice street scene. Not sure I understand the title. She's dying because she's smoking? The figure in the foreground is too funny.
