 Took some pictures of this gal because ... well, Praying Mantises are cool bugs. She was cleaning up after a tasty meal of a honeybee. I would have preferred she eat a fly, but my opinion was not taken into account when she made her meal selection. At least she created numerous triangles with her body parts as she cleaned; far more interesting to me than just a portrait of her head ;-)

Had my extension tubes on (36mm + 20mm) and used diffused fill flash.

PP - cropped, levels, increased saturation and contrast, resized, sharpened, added border.

just having a quick look in our new insect gallery and noticed this beauty .. this is awesome mary .. they're such interesting insects .. wish we got more of them around here .. :)
