Taken at the annual Battle of Britain remembrance day in Manchester town centre - I'm pretty sure that the old chap is a veteran and what was really amazing was the way that many of the young cadets (not just this fella) smiled at him as they passed. They certainly felt a connection which was really nice to see.

i gave this a 6, for me it had the potential to be higher but the focus is so shared between the cadets and the man in the wheelchair, I wish the wheelchair man would of been more in focus IMHO

Would have liked to see the focus on the man in the wheelchair "The Bystander" or a more shallow field to pull out the short boy who is glancing over at the old man.

This really plucks at the heartstrings. We don't need to see his face to know that he is grinning.

Brilliant shot. I love the boy smiling in the marching line, it is as though he is the past of the man in the chair. Love it.

Great idea for this contest but I have few remarks. I wish we can see the bystander's face, also his head goes in the out of focus point, the strongest focus point should be completely on him, since the contest is about the bystander. The big guy above his doesn't much contribute to the looks of the photo.

My favorite so far. I wish the man in the wheelchair was more in focus. But this is still amazing. The symbolism is powerful and this fits the challenge perfectly
