I was looking through some Trent Parke photography and this image kept popping into my mind. Kept thinking it should have been one of his.

I'd like to join!

On my business card I call myself an artist rather than a photographer.

This was one of my favorites in this FS.

Yes I like it. Good to see you back and participating again after quite a long spell of absence ( or maybe you were just lurking) :)

What really intrigues me is the strong diagonal of the light as opposed to the upwards whoosh of the grain in the stone in the column. This is a case of "X" marking the spot. Then there's the blurred figure making one leg of an isosceles triangle...

This is wonderful, Paul. I somehow forgot to vote on FS. LOL It would have gotten a high mark from me.

Two Cokin ND filters ND4+ND8, hand-held at about 1/2 sec I think (but I was leaning on a doorframe). Square crop & a touch of curves for contrast. Nothing else in PP ... I don't know how to use Photoshop & don't care to find out.

Now THIS one... Well, this one just quite simply rocks. The clenched hand centers everything so nicely.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: I really like this, the sharp shaft of light, the shadows and the moving figure all hangs together really well. Very Nixtery - a good thing. What impresses me most, is the way you've balanced the image so well, great composition, just the right amount of blur, just the right amount of vignette.

Critical stuff: Nothing at all.

Overall: Very strong work.

Fantastic. Love the in focus hand. The triangle formed by the person, shadow, and his superhuman vision. 9

Awesome motion blur. I'm wondering if you used an nd filter, as it seems to be quite bright. I love how the blur contrasts with all the sharp angles, and how the shadow remains so sharp - as if it were the shadow of a ghost, of a dimension shifter who is manifesting into this dimension. Even the texture of the curb at the bottom is a treat.
