Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Underexposed (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-450D Rebel XSi
Lens: Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
Location: Dressing Room
Date: Sep 13, 2010
Aperture: F5.6
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/10 sec
Galleries: Black and White, Self Portrait
Date Uploaded: Sep 14, 2010

Shot with side lighting coming in through a long narrow window against a black backdrop.
Used massage oil to help with the light reflecting off the skin and then tried this one after spraying water on the oil.
My first real attempt at this kind of shot so not sure how it will do in the challenge.

I like it even if it doesn't score well but I will be happy with a 5.5+ score to improve my current average.

Raw, exposure adjustment, curves, export to CS3, levels, sharpen twice, desaturate, resize, SFW

The lighting is really good here (although I would have liked the lit parts just a tiny bit more lit) But it's the crop that's a little odd to me, although the composition - his placement in the frame - works well. Maybe even a little less space off the right would be even better?

Nice composition but the image seems rather flat
