I really like how brooding this is. I'm also guessing that had you exposed properly for the foreground the subject (as it is in the final product) would have been close to blown as well, so this is interesting in that the underexposure shifts our concept of the subject matter. I can't help but think that if the foreground was exposed for, it would have been about the countryside, a typical pastoral scene. On the contrary, with your approach, we are left with a scene of dreariness, yet hope, the road delving into the future, towards the only light in a world of dark.
Reminds me, unsurprisingly, of the book by Cormac McCarthy The Road. Great shot. |

Nice work, IMO, should have scored higher, I bumped you to a ten b4 rollover. Nice Job! |

Now this is nicely under-exposed, good job on keeping the detail. 9 |

Excellent portrayal of the challenge. The border seems a little much, however. 8 |

I like the dark and mystic feeling that this photo gives, and also well applied borders, 9 |

Great mood in this image.. The loneliness of the path is greatly conveyed by the underexposure. |

Oh I love it. This is truly underexposed and my kind of shot. In a normal challenge, "too dark" would probably be what you'd hear from the masses, yet it is intriguing and invites me to study it further. Love the vanishing point. 8 |
