I think the viewer wants to see its face. And that flower base either needs to be in focus or... more blurred... not sure.
Love those wings so sharp!

I love the bend in the stem, but the leaves are a bit distracting. The problem is, the tight crop really brings out the beauty in the butterfly, and if you widened even photo even more, you might start to lose the interest in the subject.
I'm thinking perhaps cropping it even tighter, and adding a tad more sharpening.
(I cloned out a small leaf that was left in the upper right when cropping) |

Lovely colors. I like the smoothness of the background as well, but I agree that the tight crop does take away a bit with the leaves cut off. |

Love the size of the butterfly compared to the flower, I also like the fact that he's upside down, it would have been even better if the the leaves hadn't been cut at the top. |
